We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Manager – Pricing (Ocean Export) to support the export pricing team in preparing competitive freight quotes, coordinating with carriers and agents, and maintaining pricing databases. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of international shipping, logistics, and Incoterms.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of global shipping practices, NVOCC operations, and trade lane management.
Understand contractual conditions that impact pricing, including risks, assumptions, promises, and commitments.
Lead negotiation of rates, contracts, and service terms with ocean carriers, third-party logistics providers, and customers.
Negotiate buying rates and space agreements with carriers and partners.
Manage and optimize NVOCC trade lanes, ensuring competitive pricing, reliable services, and strong carrier relationships.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to develop effective pricing strategies for existing and new trade routes.
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers, ports, and logistics providers to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.
Analyze market trends, shipping capacities, and trade lane performance to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions, including advice on shipping routes, transit times, and regulations.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with ocean carriers and overseas agents.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in export pricing or freight forwarding.
Hands-on experience dealing with overseas agents for ocean freight rates and contracts.
Good knowledge of shipping terms (Incoterms), freight rates, and export documentation.
Proficiency in MS Excel and pricing software/tools.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management ability.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
