Role Overview
This role oversees drayage, pricing, vendor coordination, and invoice checking for complete door-to-door shipments, while ensuring accurate ERP usage and operational support during US business hours. The Manager/Senior Manager must ensure correct pricing, timely vendor coordination, accurate job costing, and complete data integrity within the ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drayage & Vendor Management
Negotiate and manage drayage and inland trucking rates for US ports and ramps.
Maintain strong vendor networks and track port delays, escalations, and cost deviations.
Manage vendor performance, container pickups, port delays, and service escalations.
2. Pricing & Rate Management
Prepare precise quotes for drayage, inland trucking, LCL/FCL, and final-mile services.
Maintain updated tariff files, margin structures, and cost sheets.
3. Operations Support
Supervise port/rail releases, trucker dispatch, appointments, and final delivery updates.
Resolve exceptions such as holds, demurrage risks, or vendor delays.
4. Invoice Checking & Cost Verification
Review complete door-to-door job files before closure.
Verify revenue and cost entries and make corrections where necessary.
Check all vendor invoices against contracted rates.
Flag discrepancies and ensure corrections are completed before billing.
Ensure accurate cost allocation and error-free billing.
5. ERP Usage, Cost Capture & System Output
Ensure correct and complete usage of the ERP system for every shipment handled.
Validate that the ERP reflects real-time cost updates, rate changes, and vendor revisions.
Maintain 100% data accuracy for system-generated invoices, reports, and summaries.
Conduct periodic checks to ensure all team members follow ERP SOPs without deviation.
6. Team Leadership & Process Management
Lead and mentor a team of pricing, drayage, and invoice-checking staff.
Train the team on US freight processes, ERP usage, vendor structures, and SOP compliance.
Implement improvements to drayage, pricing, and invoicing workflows.
Ensure night-shift deliverables are completed accurately and within timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
5–7 years in US freight forwarding, drayage, inland operations, pricing, or invoice checking.
Strong knowledge of US port charges, detention/per diem, and trucking structures.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, job costing, and data accuracy.
Excellent communication, vendor negotiation, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with an NVOCC or US-based freight forwarding setup.
